Hey everyone! Sorry I haven’t updated this blog in a while. I am working on some more stories to post here. I’ve also decided that I’m going to make some changes.
Don’t worry, I’ll keep posting fiction. I might start posting poetry too if I can get back into the hang of it. However, I’m going to start posting some non-fiction articles as well. I’ve worked out what types of articles I’m going to start posting as follows:
- I don’t think I’ve mentioned it in the past, I am a bit of a stereotypical nerd (big shock, I know). Basically, I’ve always had a fascination with science fiction, comic books, video games, etc. With that in mind, I’m going to post a series of articles with my take on those subjects. Each article in this series will start with whatever I decide to title it. I was going to call this series “Geek Speak”, but there’s apparently a podcast with that name. Since October is just a few weeks away, I’m going to post a bunch of horror-themed articles in this series then. I’m going to try posting an article in this series every day in October as kind of a “Month of the Macabre” theme, but we’ll see how well that goes.
- Even though I said I would try to avoid going too political when I started this blog, I think we’ve reached a point where not sharing your political views does more harm than good. I know how annoying it can be when someone tries to shove their political values down your throat, so I’ll call these articles “Screaming At The Sky”. That way, those of you that don’t want to read political rants can skip those articles. I’m going to wait a month or two after the midterm elections before I post the first article in this series, partly to give myself time to write them, but mostly because I think we could all use a break from politics.
- Those of you that have read my blog for a while have noticed that I try to post a humorous article each holiday. These articles have tended to be an attempt at a funny summary of the holiday, followed by a wish for a happy and safe day. Starting with Columbus Day, I’m going to try posting a series of stories called “Wrong or Mostly Wrong?”. These will be fictionalized accounts of how these holidays came about. Yes, I realize that I will have to double post once or twice in October in order to get both a “Wrong or Mostly Wrong?” and a “Month of the Macabre” article posted, but I’ll try to work that out. I may expand this series to cover other ideas, but I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it.
- Finally, I’m going to post any story or article idea that I can’t expand into a full blog post as “Random Ramblings”. I’ve had a couple of ideas for a while now that I find amusing, but don’t really have enough to them to spread out into a full story or article. I’ll try posting the first article of this series this weekend. After that, it will just depend on how frequently these ideas come up.
I’m also going to be working on a few other writing projects as well during this time. I’m working on writing a science fiction novel, which will have some humor to it, but will mostly be a serious adventure story. If enough people are interested, I’ll post some excerpts here and show my progress as time goes on.
I’m also going to start work on the next “Correctly Political Tales” book, which I’m going to release in 2020. I’m going to try to make entries of the “Correctly Political Tales” books into an election year tradition (yes, I know that means that I technically missed this year, but the audio book for “Make Oz Great Again” came out this year, so I’m counting that as my 2018 contribution to the series).
All this means that there may be fewer of the types of stories that I’ve previously posted here, but I’m still going to try to keep posting those stories as well. To all those that have enjoyed my posts so far, I want to thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoy what’s coming next.
