Primary Concerns

Hey everyone!  I’m sorry I haven’t made a post in a while.  A couple of the stories that I’m working on haven’t turned out quite as well as I’d like, so I’m re-working them a bit before I post them here.  I’m going to try to get one finished soon so that I can post it this weekend.

In the meantime, I wanted to send a quick reminder to my fellow Missourans…Missourites?…Missourables, that’s the one.  I wanted to send a quick reminder to my fellow Missourables that the Missouri Primary is going to be on Tuesday, August 7th.  This will be the best opportunity to have a say in who represents your party in the General Election in November.

Now, the people that know me know that I generally believe in voting out all incumbents.  It doesn’t matter how good or bad I think they are as a person or as a representative of the people, I believe that no one should stay in power for too long.  After all, it’s like Mark Twain famously said, “Politicians are like diapers; they should be changed often, and for the same reason.”  As a side note, that is one of my favorite Mark Twain quotes, right after “Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” and “Which one of you idiots bleached all my good suits?!”

The only other issue on the primary ballot that I know of is Proposition A, which will determine whether or not Missouri becomes one of the so-called “Right to Work” states.  Now, the whole “Right to Work” thing is kind of a loaded issue, so I’m not going to get into a debate about it here.  I’m personally going to be voting No on this proposal, even though I’m relatively certain that the Supreme Court ruling back in June makes this a moot point.

So remember to vote in August!  After all, if you don’t vote in the Primary, you don’t get to complain about the awful choices you have in the General Election.  If you do vote in the Primary, you can complain all you want!
